Full-Day String Quartet Workshops in Sheffield

Dr Sandra Toledo-Rivera and Dr Amnael Orozco-Diaz, both members of the Weston String Quartet, are developing a programme of full-day quartet workshops for interested string players (violin/viola/cello) in the Sheffield area.

We are seeking to develop a continuing programme, running as three full-day workshops per-year, to foster an active string quartet community in and around Sheffield.

The workshops will be practical affairs, running as single day affairs in April, June and November. Our first pilot session was held on 28 June 2025; the next session is scheduled for 15 November 2025.

We are aiming delivery for competent, adult string players; you should be of approximately Grade 5 standard, and must be over 18 years of age at the time of the workshop.

Whilst participation from established string quartets is very much welcomed, you do not already need to be a member of a group, as we will assign players to an ensemble grouping of appropriate level for the day.
